    Chatfield Brush Fire
    10/17/19 - South Metro Firefighters IAFF LOCAL 2086
    At 12:55 p.m. on Thursday Local 2164 and 1309 members responded to a vegetation fire in the open space south of Chatfield State Park and east of Roxborough Park Road in Douglas County. When members arrived, they found several acres of grass and weeds on fire being pushed by a south breeze. The incident was upgraded to a large brush fire response and additional resources were dispatched.

    Biloxi Ct. Structure Fire
    10/15/19 - South Metro Firefighters IAFF LOCAL 2086
    At 10:47 p.m. on Monday October 15th, Local members responded to an outbuilding fire in the 5300 block of S. Biloxi Ct. in unincorporated Arapahoe County. Multiple 911 callers reported seeing a barn on fire and that there were horses in the area. When members arrived on scene, they found a barn next to a house fully engulfed in flames. Homeowners also reported gas inside the barn.

    BREAST CANCER AWARENESS Once again Local 830 NFD is having its annual fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness.  Last year Local 830 donated $10,000 to the Smilow Family Breast Health Center at Norwalk Hospital.  With creative logos designed by their members and printing done by H.J. Hoffman Co.

    Centennial Drive Multi Family Structure Fire
    10/09/19 - South Metro Firefighters IAFF LOCAL 2086
    At 4:01 a.m. on Wednesday October 9th, numerous 911 callers reported a fire with a person trapped at the Verona Apartments, located at 2901 W. Centennial Drive in Littleton. Littleton Police officers were first to arrive, they encountered heavy smoke conditions and evacuated all of the surrounding apartments.

    At 4:21 p.m. on Tuesday October 8th, Local members responded to a house fire on S. Rifle Street in Centennial. 911 callers reported a fire possibly inside the wall of the home under renovation. When members arrived on scene, they saw a significant amount of smoke showing from the home.

Our open enrollment period starts Monday October 7th and ends on Friday October 18th, 2019. This is the only time in the year you can change the type of medical/dental/vision coverage or add/remove dependents from coverage without a qualifying event.

    First Responders (Police, Fire & EMS) across our country have seen an increase in shootings, and mass casualty events which results larger numbers of victims who are injured or have died as a result of their wounds.   Here in Kansas City, MO the number of homicides so far this year has surpassed 100.

    At 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday September 25th, Local members responded to a working residential fire in the 2200 block of Chesapeake Lane in Highlands Ranch. Neighbors called 911 reporting big flames coming from the back of the garage of the home.
